Eric Batten M.Ed.
Eric Batten is currently employed by Texas Instruments as a Systemic Manager. His work in education centers around K-12 Partnerships and innovative opportunities for school districts to expand program offerings in high-wage high need career fields soch as computer science, electrical engineering, and more. Eric is an advocate for robust technology application and encouraging students to explore hands-on career education in high tech industries.
Eric attended Stephen F. Austin University where he earnes a BS in Math and Kinesiology, and a Master of Education in Secondary Education.
Renda Songer, MPA; M.Ed.
Renda Songer, a Dallas, Texas Native, is employed by the Region 10 Education Service Center in Richardson, Texas as a Teaching and Learning Consultant for all things CCMR and CTE, and as an Education Consultant and Speaker for Texas Career Educators. She has worked in several school districts across the state of Texas to drive innovative administrative teams in restructuring CTE programs and college- and career-readiness strategies that lead to positive outcomes for students and accountability ratings. In 2017 -2020, the CTE GURU, worked with an outstanding Collin County district administrative team that had been named as one of the “Worst in North Texas”. Theyincreased CTE funding by more than one million dollars, and drove a C rated district to an A in one year, solely through CCMR strategies and CTE Program Improvement. Renda successfully authored grant applications that have produced millions of dollars in funding for multiple school districts.
She earned a B.S. in Business Management, and a Master of Public Administration from Tarleton State University. After “Falling Into a Career in Education”, she earned a Master in Educational Administration and K-12 Principal Certification from Lamar University. Currently, Renda is employed by the Region 10 Education Service Center in Richardson, Texas as a Teaching and Learning Consultant for all things CCMR and CTE. She hopes to complete her Doctoral program in 2022 to complete the goals inspired by a life-long love of learning a “little bit about everything”.
Renda enjoys speaking with groups about existing gaps in the lack of relevance in public education and about keeping kids in the center of decision flywheels. In her free time, she loves being at the beach, reading and writing, attempting to crochet and craft, and spending time with her HUGE family including husband Jimmy, daughters Amanda, Haley, Shelby, Darby and Riley, son Jackson, grandkids Hudson and Madison, AND introducing in the Fall of 2021 - Heidi Jean!
Shelby Honeycutt M.Ed.
Shelby Honeycutt is currently employed by Community Independent School District as a College and Career Readiness Advisor. Her work in K-12 Education focuses on career exploration and any and everything related to educational technology. In the past, she has consulted with a number of school districts around their need for virtual education solutions. Shelby attended Navarro College and Tarleton State University earning a BS in Applied Science, and earned a Master in Educational Administration at Lamar University.
She and her husband Clay, who is also an educator, are expecting their first baby. In her free time, Shelby enjoys reading, decorating,
